What is a Conditional Use Permit? 

A Conditional Use Permit is special permission from the city that allows a Use only if specific rules are followed to protect the surrounding neighborhood

What is a Variance?  

A variance is special permission from the city to exempt you from a  zoning rule, usually due to special or unique circustmances.  

What is a Lot Line Adjustment?  

A Lot Line Adjustment is a process that lets neighboring property owners move the property line without creating new lots. 

What is a Certificate of Compliance?   

A Certificate of Compliance is an official document from the city or county that confirms a property was legally created under the California Subdivision Map Act. It proves that a lot is a legal lot.

Permitting?   

Permitting is the process of getting approval from the city before you build, change, or open something on a property. This is a by-right process, no entitlement is needed.
